What are the PROMISE European Guidelines for training professionals in mental health promotion in the area of drugs and alcohol?
The aim of the guidelines is to provide a series of recommendations in the form of best practice indicators to help professionals and communities develop and evaluate quality training programmes for professionals on mental health promotion in the area of alcohol and drug use and addiction in Europe.

The Guidelines can be used for undergraduate training, for continuous or postgraduate training (for example a Masters Diploma addressing students from different professional backgrounds) or for training when setting up local projects on specific mental health promotion themes: for example if you need to train employers on drug and alcohol issues in promoting health and well-being in the workplace.

The Model Training Program
This document proposes an example of a training programme for professionals (psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychologists....). It incorporates possible topics from both mental health promotion and traditional prevention approaches in alcohol and drug use and addiction.
